Robux and V-Bucks are the in-game currencies of Roblox and Fortnite, two of the most popular games among children. Children are constantly offered "free Robux" or "free V-Bucks" through websites, videos and messages from other players.
These generators do not exist. They are scams designed to take children's accounts, personal information or parents' money.
What the evidence shows
- No generators. Roblox and Epic Games both state that the only way to get their currencies is through official purchases, gift cards or approved rewards. Currency cannot be created by outside websites.
- How the scams work. Generators ask children to enter their username and password, complete "human verification" surveys that collect personal data or sign up for paid services, or download files that contain malware.
- Account theft. Stolen accounts are often resold, and items bought with real money are taken.
- Warnings. Consumer agencies, including the US Federal Trade Commission, have warned parents about scams targeting young gamers.
Why it matters
Children are an easy target because they want the currency badly and do not yet recognize scam patterns. Explaining "if it's free and needs your password, it's a scam" protects them across all games.
