'''''The Tactics & Tropes of the Internet Research Agency''''' is a 2018 report by Renée DiResta and colleagues (New Knowledge). Source: New Knowledge, report prepared for the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, December 2018.

== Summary ==
Researchers led by Renée DiResta analyzed data that Facebook, Twitter and Google provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee about accounts run by Russia's Internet Research Agency.

=== Findings ===
The report documented millions of posts across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, and found that Instagram was a larger part of the operation than had been understood. It described how the agency built online communities around identities and causes, from Black activism to Texas secession and Christian conservatism, before introducing political messages, and how it tried to discourage some groups from voting.

=== Relevance to Bullshitopedia ===
A detailed look at how propaganda can work through fake communities rather than overt messages.
