== Summary ==
This report from the Oxford Internet Institute surveyed organized social media manipulation by governments and political parties around the world.

=== Findings ===
The authors found evidence of organized social media manipulation campaigns in 70 countries in 2019, up from 28 in 2017. Techniques included automated accounts, human-run troll operations, hacked or stolen accounts, and strategies such as spreading pro-government propaganda, attacking opposition figures and suppressing participation. They identified a small number of governments, including China and Russia, using these tools for foreign influence operations.

=== Relevance to Bullshitopedia ===
Evidence that computational propaganda is a global practice used by many governments, not only a few well-known actors.
